Merauke, 8 October 2026 – PT Bio Inti Agrindo facilitated the release of 11 wild animals representing nine species in Lake Bian Wildlife Reserve South Papua, as part of the company’s commitment to supporting biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Papua Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA Papua), the government authority responsible for the management and protection of wildlife and natural resources. PT BIA supported the implementation of the activity and coordination among stakeholders as part of its ongoing conservation collaboration with BBKSDA Papua.

The released animals included a water python, green python, carpet python, field monitor lizard, green tree monitor, blue-tongued skink, pencil-tailed lizard, kangaroo, and greater bird-of-paradise. Prior to release, the animals underwent handling, health examinations, and habituation to ensure they were fit to return to their natural habitat.

The activity was led by the Head of BBKSDA Papua, Johny Santoso, S.Hut., M.Agr., and involved representatives from government institutions, security authorities, forestry law enforcement, the South Papua Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine Agency, the private sector, and the Kindiki Village community.

For PT BIA, supporting wildlife release is not only about returning animals to the wild. It is also part of a broader effort to strengthen long-term conservation through cooperation between government, local communities, and the private sector.

PT BIA’s collaboration with BBKSDA Papua has also focused on habitat protection, wildlife handling, strengthening the management of conservation areas, and raising public awareness of the importance of biodiversity protection in South Papua.

PT BIA believes that effective conservation requires collective action. The company will continue to support initiatives that contribute to wildlife protection, habitat conservation, and responsible environmental management.

Through this collaboration, PT BIA hopes the released animals can once again thrive in their natural habitat while contributing to the long-term preservation of South Papua’s rich biodiversity.
