We continue to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as our contribution to the efforts to tackle climate change.

One of the most daunting challenges for many agricultural companies worldwide is the reality of climate change. The impact of climate change also brings various challenges to our operation as a palm oil company. PT. BIA combats this by continuously reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations, while committing the necessary infrastructure and systems to tackle the difficulty posed by climate change.

Prohibiting Environmentally Damaging Development Methods

Under our NDPE Policy, we utilize environmentally friendly methods in our plantation management. Environmentally damaging methods such as land clearing by burning and plantation development on peatlands are strictly prohibited across our concession.

Compliance with Environmental Standards

We abide by environmental protection laws and standards, including the Declaration of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, the Rio Declaration on Environment, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. PT. BIA is also thoroughly RSPO and ISPO certified.

Emissions Reduction

We continuously strive to reduce emissions across our operations. This includes reducing the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrous oxide (NO2) by limiting the use of pesticides, reducing our water footprint through proper water and waste management, and offsetting emissions from our mills.
