JAKARTA, 20 August 2026 – PT Bio Inti Agrindo (PT BIA) supported the participation of the Papua Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA Papua) in the 2026 National Nature Conservation Day (HKAN) exhibition held at Ragunan Zoo, Jakarta. This event was part of the series of commemorations marking the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence and the 2026 HKAN on August 20, 2026.

The HKAN 2026 Exhibition served as a collaborative platform for the government, business sector, communities, and other stakeholders to strengthen their shared commitment to environmental protection for current and future generations. The event also reinforced the message that conservation should not be treated as a ceremonial agenda, but as a collective call for concrete action.

The Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE), Prof. Dr. Satyawan Pudyatmoko, S.Hut., M.Agr.Sc., stated that HKAN is commemorated every 10 August. The commemoration is expected to serve as an important reminder of the shared responsibility to protect and conserve natural resources and ecosystems.

As part of HKAN 2026, a total of 74 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) under the Directorate General of KSDAE carried out simultaneous conservation actions across Indonesia. These programmes included ecosystem restoration, tree planting, area rehabilitation, release of protected wildlife, community empowerment, conservation education, and clean-up activities in conservation areas.

The event also featured the presentation of the Nature Conservation Award as a form of appreciation for parties that have contributed to biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection in Indonesia. The award underscored that successful conservation requires the involvement of multiple parties, including government institutions, partners, communities, and the private sector.

In line with the commemoration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, the Ministry of Forestry carried the national spirit of “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” or “A Sovereign, Just, and

Prosperous Indonesia.” Through this momentum, all parties were encouraged to interpret independence not merely as a celebration, but also as a call to deliver concrete contributions, including protecting forests, safeguarding the environment, and managing natural resources sustainably.

At the HKAN 2026 Exhibition, BBKSDA Papua showcased various products developed through community mentoring and empowerment programmes in villages surrounding the Company’s operational areas. This initiative forms part of the collaboration and partnership between BBKSDA Papua and PT BIA to support local communities by developing products based on village potential.

The products displayed included stainless cups, wooden mugs, shopping bags, VCO based soap, virgin coconut oil produced by local women, eucalyptus oil, sago cookies, noken, and T-shirts themed around Danau Bian. The presence of these products demonstrated that conservation can go hand in hand with community empowerment and local economic development.

Through this exhibition, Papua community products were not only introduced to visitors, but also given space to showcase the creativity, local wisdom, and economic potential of village communities. This effort is an important part of strengthening community independence while maintaining a balanced relationship between people, nature, and local culture.

PT BIA views its collaboration with BBKSDA Papua as an important part of the Company’s commitment to conservation and sustainable development. Through this partnership, the Company seeks to strengthen the role of the private sector in environmental protection, the safeguarding of high conservation value areas, and capacity building for communities surrounding its operational areas.

The HKAN 2026 Exhibition served as a reminder that conservation is not solely the responsibility of government or specific institutions, but a shared responsibility. With the spirit of independence and concern for environmental sustainability, PT BIA will continue to support initiatives that connect environmental protection, community empowerment, and sustainable local economic development.
