Bogor, February 21, 2025 – PT Bio Inti Agrindo (PT BIA) and the Papua Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA Papua) have signed the 2025 Annual Work Plan (RKT) to enhance biodiversity conservation efforts in the Lake Bian Wildlife Reserve. The signing ceremony took place at Grand Savero Hotel, Bogor, attended by Bae Gyutae, a representative of PT BIA and BBKSDA Papua Head A.G. Martana, and witnessed by representatives from the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE).

In addition to the RKT signing, the meeting also discussed the results of biodiversity studies conducted in SM Danau Bian. The Director of Species and Genetic Conservation at KSDAE, Nunu Anugrah, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government in environmental conservation. "This initiative is very helpful and represents a strong collaboration between the private sector and the government, possibly the first of its kind in Papua. Currently, data availability is still limited, so the sago land exploration is highly valuable in enriching environmental information, particularly in South Papua," The Director of Species and Genetic Conservation at KSDAE stated.

Biodiversity Exploration: Key Findings

One of the key achievements of this partnership is the publication of a scientific book based on an exploration conducted in the Lake Bian Wildlife Reserve over 13 days (June 26–July 7, 2024). The research team was divided into four groups focusing on vegetation, aquatic fauna, terrestrial fauna, and socio-economic and cultural aspects. The study revealed important findings on the flora and fauna conditions in the area, serving as a foundation for more targeted and effective conservation strategies.

2025 Work Plan

The 2025 RKT focuses on four key areas:
1.    Conservation of flora and fauna
2.    Institutional strengthening
3.    Community empowerment around the Lake Bian Wildlife Reserve
4.    Area protection

This agreement reaffirms PT BIA’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental management. PT BIA hopes that this collaboration will continue to grow, creating positive impacts on both the environment and local communities.
