Merauke, July 3, 2020, Oil Palm Plantation and Management Company, PT Bio Inti Agrindo (PT BIA) together with the District Government and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Merauke Regency, held a blood donor activity in the operational area of PT BIA Company located in Ulilin District, Merauke Regency.

At this time the availability of blood stocks at the PMI of Merauke Regency is starting to decrease and the PMI of Merauke Regency requires a large supply of blood from all blood groups, therefore the PT BIA company follows up on the request for cooperation proposed by the PMI of Merauke Regency to hold blood donor activities.

The company PT BIA welcomed the proposed activities from PMI Merauke Regency, therefore the company agreed and committed to holding a blood donation activity with the theme "Action of Concern for Others during the Covid-19 Pandemic". In addition, the company also implements health protocols in the implementation of this activity. This is reflected in the separation of activities carried out in 2 different locations with an earlier starting time of 07:00 WIT. The implementation of blood donation activities this time succeeded in donating 215 bags of blood to the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Merauke.

PT BIA hopes that cooperation with the government, especially PMI in the form of blood donation activities can also be carried out and become an agenda, it is in line with POSCO Corporate Citizenship in the health sector.

Humanitarian activities that have previously been carried out are donations of 20,000 pcs of medical masks to the covid-19 task force team in Merauke district and 1,020 pcs of rapid test kits.
