Merauke Regency, Papua through its Regent Mr. Frederikus Gebze has received a donation of 680 pcs of rapid test kits from PT Bio Inti Agrindo (PT.BIA) & POSCO International to help prevent and overcome the COVID-19 Outbreak in Indonesia, especially Eastern Indonesia.

Donations in the form of rapid tests today, Wednesday, May 13, 2020 were handed over to the COVID-19 task force unit to be further distributed to Merauke Regional Hospital, Naval Hospital and Mother of Hope Hospital.

In addition to rapid tests, PT BIA will also provide donations in the form of 20,000 masks which will be sent in stages because they are still in the logistics process from Jakarta to Merauke.

340 rapid test kits were also given to the PT BIA Clinic located in Ulilin District under the leadership of Doctor Wawang Tirtana, so that they can be utilized by people who are far from Merauke City. The total number of Rapid Tests donated for the Merauke region is 1,020 pcs.

Doctor Wawang argues "in fighting COVID-19 we all need to work together not only the government, the private sector and the community must also try to break this chain".

The President Director of PT BIA added that in addition to following the Health protocol that has been made by the government, his party also socializes a clean lifestyle to all its employees and implements self-quarantine for anyone who will enter the work area of PT BIA's oil palm plantations, it is solely to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19.

Frederikus Gebze expressed his gratitude for the concern and donation of PT BIA and also the POSCO International Group in Korea, we also gave appreciation to the Company because the actions that have been carried out are one of the efforts to assist the government in breaking the chain and overcoming this outbreak. We all hope that the COVID-19 outbreak can soon pass, especially in Indonesia.

The donation ceremony was held at the Secretariat of the COVID-19 Task Force at the Merauke Regency Regent's Office and was symbolically received by the Regent of Merauke Regency Mr. Frederikus Gebze SE, MSI witnessed by Regional Secretary Mr. Daniel Pauta, Assistant 3 Mr. Yacobus Duwiri, COVID-19 Task Force Representative, President Director of PT.BIA Mr. Kong Byoung sun and also several representatives from PT BIA.

This action was carried out as an effort to ground the COVID-19 curve in line with POSCO INTERNATIONAL's social responsibility as a 'Global Corporate Citizen'.
